Hydra

a.k.a. Many-Headed Serpent

A serpent living in fetid swamps, sporting many heads. Even if the area the hydra lives in was once an idyllic stream or lake, it won’t be long before the monster’s poisonous breath blights the surrounding vegetation and taints the water. Though other multi-headed dragons exist, the hydra’s claim to fame is its regenerative abilities. Severing a head causes two more to spring from the bloody stump, eventually resulting in an overwhelming mass of snapping heads. One of the hydra’s heads is immortal, continuing to fight when removed and, if given enough space and time, it will regrow its body, forming a new hydra. Hydra bile is a necrotic poison and wounds exposed to it will not heal.
